“Minding the Heart” is a 6-month course which meets weekly over zoom and focuses on the core skills needed to work experientially in therapy. This course is a deep-dive into theory and technique, and integrates from AEDP, IFS, and Coherence Therapy. The foundational goal is to learn to work in a way that facilitates deep transformation through memory reconsolidation (or what Bruce Ecker called “Therapeutic Reconsolidation”). As Ecker is my main mentor, his theories and techniques serve as the backdrop for what we will be learning in the group.

I am trying a new format this year and here’s what it will look like:
–15-30 minutes of video content to watch before meetings. Because I want our time together ‘live’ to be as valuable as possible, each week I’ll be sending out some training content (usually one of my youtube videos, but occasionally a video I’ve recorded that isn’t published). That way we can use our time together to expand upon that content (rather than re-tell it). That way we can cover more ground! 😉
–1 hour “large group” meeting. Each week we will meet as a large group (exactly how large will depend on how much interest there is in the group). This is where I’ll be giving the core lecture for that week, one that expands upon the “homework” video (but dives into other topics as well that aren’t covered by my youtube vids). (There is the option to sign up to ONLY get the weekly recordings–along with the other weekly homework video–for only $30/week. So if the whole training is too expensive, you can sign up for this ‘sliding scale’ option here).
–1 hour “small group” meeting. In order to have more time together, we will also be meeting each week in smaller groups (perhaps around 25). During this time I will offer to do live demos on participants, while also creating chances to break out into dyads to practice together. During this group everyone will be asked to have their videos on so we can all connect.
Here are the details:
DATES: Last week in November – End of May
COST: $100/week (I do charged for missed groups, but try to send out recordings whenever possible). (Remember, there is the $30/week option, if you only want to get the recordings of the weekly lecture, and forgo the small group experience).
TIMES:
—1 hr. “big group” meeting will be on Mondays from 10:30-11:30am CST (recordings available if you miss).
—1 hr. “small group” meeting later in week (you would be assigned a group depending on the times you indicate you can make during the poll / interest form.)

TESTIMONIALS:
Most modalities teach therapists how to make one recipe. Tori teaches us how to cook. She has the incredible ability to take concepts spanning across a number of different modalities and break them down in accessible ways. Tori has helped me understand the mind and its processes more holistically.

Tori’s course is an authoritative and in-depth elaboration of the best of psychotherapy. She is a deep and sensitive thinker whose depth of understanding enables her to disseminate and communicate complex ideas with simplicity and elegance. Working with Tori has turbo charged my therapy practice and I cannot recommend her highly enough!
Tony V, Brighton UK
Tori is such an amazing teacher, she is so skilled at communicating complex information and ideas in such simple, impactful ways. I highly recommend this course. I gained so much from it in such foundational ways. I know there is a lot to choose from out there but this one is absolutely worth your time and investment.
Rebecca S, Austin, TX.
There is no one else I admire as much in this field of work as Tori. Tori has a real gift. It’s not only Tori’s incredible knowledge base but her approach, delivery, and ability to deeply explore and teach a variety of therapeutic topics and ideas in meaningful ways. Although her understanding of complex topics is quite advanced, she has a knack for communicating these ideas in memorable and easy to understand ways. So much of what I’ve learned and use with my own clients comes from Tori’s mentorship and trainings. I feel lucky to be able to learn and benefit from her experience. It’s been a delight.

Dr. Olds not only has extensive clinical experience and in-depth knowledge of psychology from her research, study and practice but she is exceptional at artfully synthesizing and presenting complex information in an easy-to-understand, relatable manner. My clinical and personal growth, as the result of training and on-going consultation with Dr. Olds, has been and continues to be transformational.
Karen K., Austin, Texas
Tori Olds is truly a master teacher who clearly and using nuanced clinical examples, differentiate between and integrates theory and practices of experiential psychotherapy. Super smart, knowledgeable and organized, she teaches with heart and compassion, precision and openness, to help students understand and integrate learnings and applications. I was so stimulated by “Becoming a Master Therapist” that I signed up for her 6 month weekly training group. Whether you are relatively new to the profession or an experienced practitioner, learning from Tori is invaluable.
